This policy explains how we process your personal data, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR) and Spanish Organic Law 3/2018 (LOPDGDD).

Data we process

Your answers: the procedures you need, nationality (region of origin) and time in Spain.
Your contact details: first name, surname, email, WhatsApp number and town or area.
Technical data: the IP address you send the form from, kept in pseudonymised form for one hour at most to prevent mass submissions, and what your browser stores as described in the cookie policy.

We do not ask for any health data or other sensitive data. Please do not include any in your request.

Purposes and legal basis

You can withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.

Recipients

Partner professionals in your area, depending on your request: gestorías and the lawyers or notaries they work with when your procedure requires it. Each one processes your data as an independent controller once they receive it. On request, we will tell you which professional your data was passed to.
Our technical service providers: website hosting and email (Hostinger) and messaging (WhatsApp, by Meta), bound by a data processing agreement.
Public authorities, when required by law.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers (for example Meta/WhatsApp) may process data outside the European Economic Area. These transfers are then based on an adequacy decision of the European Commission (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or on standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data for 12 months after your request, or until you withdraw your consent. After that, it is only archived for the legal limitation periods.

Your rights

You can exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability by writing to contacto@nuevoenespana.com and stating which right you are exercising. If you believe your request has not been handled properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, www.aepd.es).

Minors

The service is intended for people over 18. We do not knowingly process data from minors.

Security

We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, unauthorised access or alteration.

Frequently asked questions

Is the request free?

Yes. The request and the first contact are free and without commitment. Nuevo en España may be paid by its partner professionals, never by you.

I'm an EU citizen. Do I need a residence permit?

No, but if you stay more than 3 months you must register (EU registration certificate) and get a NIE. You will be asked for sufficient income and, if you don't work in Spain, health insurance. Since Brexit, UK citizens are treated as non-EU nationals and usually need a visa.

Who will contact me?

First our team, by phone or WhatsApp, to confirm your request. Then a partner gestoría in your area, which handles your procedure and, if needed, the lawyer or notary. Only if you have agreed to be contacted.

Are you a government office or a law firm?

No. We are a private guidance service that puts you in touch with partner gestorías. We do not give legal advice.

How much does the paperwork cost?

It depends on your situation. The professional gives you a clear quote before starting.
